Le Peitie - June

This month I went with the Recess,  I didn't think that I wanted to deal with all of those HST this month. I chose to stash it this month, I used the pinks from Urban Zoologie as my base and brought in other fabrics from my stash. There is a mix of Bliss, henna garden, castle peeps, verna, Denise Schmidt, MoMo, and a few other random pieces. I love this pattern and I think it turned out really well. The only problem that I had it I spent so much time laying it out because as soon as I looked away my dog was laying on it and messing it up. So I would have to start the process again...

I think that this will make a very sweet quilt for a little girl, as you might be able to tell I love to use this monthly project to stock up on baby quilts. Everyone around me seems to be having babies so it's nice to keep a couple on hand just in case.

May Le Petite

For this month's project I used Hullabaloo by Moda and some Kona snow. I loved the size of this project, it fits perfectly on my new coffee table! I am hoping to get this one basted and quilted as well as last month's project this weekend. I can't wait to see what everyone else made.

Le Petite - April

I forgot to upload this post yesterday, I hope that I am not to late to be able to be included in the parade. Here is my version of Brocante I used Lollipop by Sandy Gervais. I added an extra row and I will be adding a couple of borders to make it a little bit bigger so it can be used as a decent size baby quilt. I feel that the colors would make it good to give to a baby boy, but I don't know of anyone who is have a boy anytime soon.

Le Petite - March

This month Le Peitie's project was Endless Summer, and I love this little quilt! I have been wanting to make something for my grandmother who was one of the people responsible for getting me into quilting. I can remember spending the summers at her house playing in the fabric and loving every minute of it. I thought that this month's project would be a perfect opportunity to do so, especially since I will be visiting her next week.

This month I went with some punctuation by American Jane and some Kona white. I thought that the collection would be perfect for grandma, bright and colorful with a little bit of a vintage Americana feel to it, I love the result. I have it basted and ready to start the quilting this weekend and I should have it finished before we start the trip to Grandma's house next week. Hope that she likes it as much as I do...

Stash week 11

In :

I got in a little bit of Dream On and Fandango, as well as a lot of Bliss. I got backing fabric for three quilts one of these being a king size quilt (see below), so that makes for a lot of yardage in. I wanted to stock up on some of those wonderful dots and flowers from Bliss to, they will work so well mixed with other collections.

Total in : 36 1/2 yards

Out :

1/4 yard from my own stash to add to these blocks for the twelve month bee that I am apart of. This was my first attempt at a wonky log cabin that I have been seeing so much of, and I had a lot of fun making these. I have a feeling that there will be one of these quilts in my future.

7 1/2 yards for the blocks of my king size quilt that I am making for a family friend. I have finished the blocks and I went ahead and sewed the scraps together into half squared triangles and will set those aside for a baby quilt to made at some point in time. I figure if I went ahead and sewed them together now then I would actually use them appose to setting them in the scrap bin.

* not pictured 3/4 yard for three more blocks for the block-a-palooza, once all of the blocks are finished I will have to post a picture of all of them.

Total out : 8 1/2 yards

This week : + 28 yards (YTD + 114 yards)

Stash Report Weeks 8, 9, and 10

In:

All of those lovely packages from Fat Quarter Shop, a couple weeks ago they had a great sale on Bliss and Swoon so I stocked up. Not all of that was for me though, I did purchase some of it for my MIL.

I made a stop at Whipstitch and Joann's and picked up a much needed bolt Kona white along with some other great prints and pre-cuts. I didn't realize that Joann's had a good selection of Alexander Henry and Kona cotton.

Also Carrie and Miss Rosie sent me some great loot from the February Le Petite.

Total in over the past 3 weeks: 77 3/4 yards

Out:

This was made from a bali pop using the Dream Big pattern from Simplify by Camille Roskelley.  I made this quilt for my mom, she loves batiks and I have been waiting for the perfect pattern and as soon as I saw Dream Big I knew it would be perfect. If you get a chance pick this book up, great patterns with very easy to follow instructions. I already have another quilt ready to start on from this book.

I made this for a co-worker who is getting ready to have a baby boy. The pattern is from Oh Fransson! tutorial, loved the pattern and I am already planning on making another one.  I used Alexander Henry's 2-d zoo in pool in each one of the blocks and then various blues, greens, and yellows.  Some of the prints are from castle peeps, Katie jump rope, bliss, verna, swoon, punctuation, and some other random stash prints put together with Kona white.

This if for the layer cake quilt along, I am using bliss for mine. I also made 4 blocks for Block-a-palooza and February Le Petite. Also I gave my MIL the bliss fabric that she wanted from what I ordered above.

Total out over the past 3 weeks : 29 3/4 yards.

Past few weeks : + 48 yards (YTD + 114 yards)

M0y Oh My!

Ok I should done this last week when I got this in the mail, but THANK YOU Carrie!!!

I was so excited when I found out that I won but what I got in the mail was far more that I expected. These are some of the fabrics that I have been eyeing and my mother-in-law has already decided that she is going to need something made from one of these collections :) Again thank you Carrie and I have a feeling that some of these will end up is some of your patterns that I have around the house.

On a different note, I know that I am not that good a keeping up with posting on my blog but I really have been sewing. I am going to try to get better at updating my blog, but at least I have been updating flickr. I have a stash update that I should post, but it's bad really bad and I really don't want to see the numbers...
